Georgia Ponies of the Americas

Hello to all...   We have had our year end banquet and also awarded the year end prizes to all of those who participated and earned those well sought after year end high points. Congratulations to all of the  recipients of this years high point awards.

Also, we elected our officers and BOD for the 2012 year. See the membership page for the updated officers list.

We are working on this years show schedule and continuing to work on bringing in new sponsors and contributions. We have formed a good working partnership with the Southern Buckskin Assoc. under the direction of Cheryl Pritchard and Simply Dun Farm. Last Sept , we had our first combined POA / Buckskin show held at the International Horse Park in Conyers. We have another one planned for March 3, 2012 at the Horse Park , under full cover of the Charles Walker Arena. Also in the planning stages is a combined POA/ BUCKSKIN show at the International Horse Park on Sept, 15 - 16, 2012. Charlene Astin is working on booking shows at Sunset ranch in Villa Rica, Ga

The Club this year has adopted a new rule for its members requiring that any rider participating in any of the POA Shows will have a or any Family member help with some facet of the show...   For example, if you have a child riding in one of the classes or games, you will be required to work the gate or set up props or any other function of the show. By your participation in helping with the running of the show, it will make for a better show and help spread out the work load more fairly. We know that as a parent or guardian, you will appreciate the fact that we strive to run a fun and memorable show. Your active participation will be most appreciated.
Please also note that beginning this year, in order to be eligible for any year end high point award,  you must have participated in at least 51% of the scheduled shows.

Congratulations to our 2011 GAPOAC High Point award winners ..and to Alyssa Astin and Speakin' of a Hottie 2011 POA Internationals Futurity Winner
